Donut Run Turns into $50,000 Powerball Prize

Dec 08, 2025

A sweet tradition turned into a big win when a Missouri Lottery player stopped at Circle K, 1001 Lake St. Louis Blvd. in Lake St. Louis, and purchased a Powerball ticket for the Oct. 4 drawing.

“I always get donuts for my grandkids when they stay with me,” the winner said. “And while I was there, I picked up a ticket.”

The next day, she went back to the store to check that ticket only to discover she had matched four out of five white-ball numbers, as well as the Powerball number, to win a $50,000 prize.

“I asked the clerk to run it for me, and I was really surprised and really happy!” she added, after claiming her prize at the Lottery’s St. Louis regional office several weeks later. “Now I always get us a ticket when I pick up their donuts.”

The winning numbers on Oct. 4 were 3, 7, 47, 67 and 68 with a Powerball number of 2.

Powerball is a multi-state Draw Game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. Tonight’s drawing now has an estimated jackpot of $875 million.

In FY25, players in St. Charles County won more than $72.5 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $6.1 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $13.7 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
